)The Spirit of Eros certainly was strong when we first celebrated Eros Day here at the Speakeasy on January 22^nd, 2000. We were introduced to the whole notion of Eros Day by ErosMan, filmmaker, sexual revolutionary, classicist and astronomy buff Lasse Braun.

Lasse has been celebrating Eros Day since the 1970s when he pioneered the use of explicit sex in European cinema. Since January 22^nd fell on a Saturday night in the year 2000, we decided to devote that night’s Dr.Susan Block Show tto the uncensored celebration of Eros Day.

Not that we don’t try to do something erotic every Saturday night here at the Speakeasy, but Eros Day is special. It’s a holiday for Lovers, Sensualists, Perverts, Swingers, Ethical Hedonists and anyone who wants a little sex in their life. To give it an air of serious holiday spirit, we created an Eros Day Prayer, which we recited, naked in the firelight flickering from our cock-shaped candles.
